TCG Draw exists so collectors can swap cards and talk about the swap. Everything below is simply what that requires of you.
What TCG Draw is, and what it is not
TCG Draw is a virtual trading card expo. It is a place to list a card, find a card, and arrange a swap with another member. That is the entire service. It is a website, not a shop counter, and it is not a party to your trade.
- Nothing is bought or sold through TCG Draw. There is no checkout for cards, no basket, and no way to pay another member. Trading is member to member.
- No money passes through us for a trade. TCG Draw does not hold, hold on behalf of, transfer, or guarantee any payment between members. It cannot refund a trade, and it has no record of any money that changed hands.
- Nothing is dispatched, and nothing is verified. The site does not check that a card exists, is as described, is genuine, or was ever handed over. It does not confirm delivery, and it cannot.
- No trade is guaranteed or insured. If the other member does not send the card, or sends a different one, or sends nothing, TCG Draw cannot make them. There is no escrow and no buyer protection.
- Arrangements between members are yours. Who you trade with, what you agree, how you exchange the cards, and what you say to each other are all between the two of you.
You are responsible for your own transaction and your own negotiations. Deciding whether to go ahead, checking the card before you rely on it, arranging the handover, and doing something if it goes wrong are all yours to do. Ask for more photos. Ask for proof. Meet in public, in daylight.
One thing that is not the same as this: members who take a card or an agreed trade and then deny it break the rules below and get removed. Removing someone is not the same as recovering your card. The site acts on behaviour, not on disputes between members.
What is not tolerated
- Threats of violence. Any threat against a person, including one made jokingly, one made in passing, or one made then taken back. Stating you are bringing a weapon to a meet-up ends the conversation and the account.
- Bullying, harassment and pile-ons. Insults, name-calling, mocking someone's collection, or coordinating with others to target one member.
- Hate speech. Slurs or hostility aimed at a person because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or any similar characteristic. There is no version of this that is a joke.
- Sexual content of any kind. Including threats, and including innuendo aimed at making someone meet.
- Pressuring someone into a meeting. Agreeing to meet is fine. Insisting, threatening consequences for not attending, or turning up unannounced is not.
- Off-topic abuse. This is a card site. Political arguments, general hostility, and advertising unrelated products or services are all out of scope.
- Scams. Taking a card, a payment, or an agreed trade and then denying it.
What you are actually here to do
- Talk about cards: condition, print run, price, set, and whether a trade is fair.
- Make a clear offer and say what you are offering for it.
- Ask for more photos, and for proof, before agreeing to anything.
- Decide honestly whether a card is worth the trip to a meet-up.
Every one of those is a normal thing to say in the trade chat. None of them require a slur or a threat.
What happens when it goes wrong
- You will be emailed. A warning from the site owner, saying what was wrong. It is a real message and you can reply to it directly.
- Your account may be paused. You keep your cards, your offers and your history, but you cannot add cards, make offers, or send messages until it is resolved.
- It may be removed. A credible threat ends the account. There is no appeal process for that, because the reason is self-evident.
Pausing and removing are not automatic. Automated checks flag a small number of messages for a person to read, because a filter cannot tell the difference between a threat and an idiom and it would be wrong often enough to matter. A human decides.
If it happens to you
Do not meet anybody you feel uneasy about. That is the single most useful thing you can do, and it costs nothing. Agreeing to hand over a card face to face is optional in every trade on this site.
Use Report a problem in the top menu, or email the site owner. If someone has threatened you, or you believe they are going to show up, tell the police. That is not an overreaction and it is not something to weigh up against the embarrassment.
A report is private. The member you report is never told who reported them, and you are never told what happened to anyone else's report.
Keeping your number private
TCG Draw never asks for a phone number. If you join for the free 30 slots, the site does not have one. It is only ever collected if you ask for paid card slots, so that a missing bank transfer can be chased, and it is never shown to other members.
Sharing your number in a trade chat is your choice. The trade chat is the only place TCG Draw lets members pass contact details, and passing them does not make meeting up a good idea. Meet in public, during the day, and bring the cards you agreed to trade and nothing else.
The short version
Cards, or nothing. No threats. No slurs. No bullying. If you would not say it to someone across a shop counter, do not type it here.
